I’ll never forget digging through a box of old black and white photographs with my dad when I was a kid. We’d spend hours looking at each image while he told me stories of his childhood and explained who everyone was. It was fascinating to see the family resemblances across generations—the way they stood, tilted their heads, or the shapes of their faces. These were the generations who only had black and white photography and the option to print their memories—no digital format, no online galleries to revisit those moments. Yet, those black and white photographs lived on, passed down and shared, becoming more precious with time.

That experience left a deep impression on me and is one of the reasons I do what I do. I understand that, one day, these photographs may be all we have left to remember some of the most precious people in our lives.
